I am a science consultant supporting first, primary, middle, secondary and high schools throughout the North East of England. As an outstanding teacher, successful ex-head of department and as an innovative and influential school improvement consultant, I currently help large numbers of schools to develop excellence in science and the wider STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) agenda. Please have look at the wide variety of schools that I support and some of their thoughts about my impact.
I have expertise and a national reputation for innovative developments in science education. Through highly effective strategies, teaching techniques and easy to use resources and assessment tools I can help transform science in your school and ensure excellent outcomes for all pupils. Science will become high profile, teacher confidence and expertise will grow and improved leadership of the subject will ensure success for years to come. In short, leaders will become better leaders, teachers will become better teachers and pupils will not only become better learners but will also develop an understanding and a love of the subject that will last.
SLS can support you to deliver outstanding primary science teaching through demonstration, support and challenge by working directly with your staff. SLS has worked with a significant proportion of North East schools and supports extremely active science coordinator networks.
STEM packages available offer a wide range of opportunities, and when taken in strategic combinations, can offer your school unique and effective impact on both pupil achievement and STEM career aspiration. They are designed for both primary and secondary phases.
SLS can support science departments with the changing curriculum at all Key Stages. Our area of expertise is supporting effective assessment, progression and skill development within the curriculum. We cover middle schools, secondary schools and colleges.
As a consultant working in your school, I will demonstrate and support the development of outstanding science practice through staff training, coaching and through direct support and demonstration in the classroom. As a successful and experienced change leader I will extend thinking and scaffold improvement across your school. As a STEM consultant with a wide and extensive experience developing employability skills and linking employers effectively in the classroom, I can help prepare your pupils to make successful choices as they move through school and beyond into a world that is increasingly STEM focused.
